is a music-video, filmed in Austria’s countryside and set in the late 19th century. A lonely roamer tries to make peace with his past and begins his way to an unknown destination. After he gives himself a rest in a tavern on his way, meeting a wedding party and others, living in this godforsaken area, he witnesses a murder. The killers pick up his scent to bring an end upon him. The showdown takes place in a nearby farmhouse, leaving nobody alive, but letting the roamer find his final destination.
When collaborating with Wolf Jacobi, Chris Wiener, Axel Mayr & Franz Gelhart of the band The Morricones we really went for something new. Not in terms of the effort we put into organizing logistics, rugged and shabby looking costumes, horses and weapons, that we were already well accustomed to from past NORICUM shoots, the time and genre in which we all planned to set this cinematic looking short film music video was more the big unknown: Western, set in Austrian winter.
Naturally we therefore underwent excessive research and built in a lot of references to the big classics of Spaghetti Western „The Good, The Bad And The Ugly“ „A Fistfull of Dollars“ and „Once Upon a Time in the West“, more thematically similarly themed „The Great Silence“ and „Jeremiah Johnson“, as well as more recent entries as „The Hatefull Eight“ and „The Revenant“, not to mention our most immediate inspiration the Austrian „The Dark Valley“.
